 This Handbook presents
concepts, tools and practical guidance on how to facilitate
the inclusion of disabled people, their needs, rights and
concerns in Poverty Reduction Strategy Papers (PRSPs).
It is intended to help leaders and trainers prepare appropriate
training courses, workshops and training material that empower
people with disabilities and their organizations to effectively
participate in poverty reduction strategy processes in their
countries.

The project Mainstreaming Disability in
Development - The PRSP Way has launched a set of field projects.
These are based on the approach of the "Making PRSPs Inclusive"
manual.

The idea of this update is to briefly inform everyone involved
in the project or interested in the subject "disability and PRSP".
The Newsletter also intends to disseminate information about the
project and encourage the knowledge sharing between different
stakeholders involved in similar actions

Disability Mainstreaming EU Project

The workshop "Making PRSP Inclusive" (Poverty Reduction Strategy
Papers) was organized by CBM (Christoffel Blind Mission) Germany,
with the support of GTZ, as part of the EU-funded project "Breaking
the Cycle of Poverty and Disability in Development Cooperation".
This EU disability mainstreaming project is running from the
beginning of 2006 to the end of 2007.
