Collaboration with disabled peoples organizations

In all disability related work STAKES works closely in cooperation with disabled peoples organizations, such as the Threshold Association and FIDIDA (Finnish Disabled People's International Development Association) that is the umbrella organization of disabled peoples organizations development cooperation.

STAKES is also involved in the Global Partnership on Disability and Development (GPDD) as the donor representative in the Coordinating Task Force. GPDD is an innovative form of cooperation, an inclusive "club" of DPOs, other NGOs, Governments and Intergovernmental Organizations. It aims at accelerating the integration of disability concerns in mainstream development efforts. STAKES is involved in the GPDD Working Group that promotes the inclusion of disability issues in Poverty Reduction Strategies.
