MINDFUL PROJECT

The MINDFUL Database

The MINDFUL mental health indicator database comprises a set of 35 mental health indicators for all the 25 EU Member States. The database contains two elements of indicator data: numerical data and metadata.

The database covers the period from 1990 to the present, or to the latest year for which data are available. The data availability varies significantly between indicators and countries.

In the case of health statistics data, the sources are principally international databases, such as Eurostat Dissemination Database and WHO European Health for All Database. Additional data are provided by national statistical institutions. Survey indicator data originates mainly from survey reports and articles.

User info

The indicators are listed and grouped in Indicators. You can choose either metadata or numerical data on the list. The metadata opens in its own window, and contains information about the indicators' descriptions, definitions, availability and data sources. For statistical data the user interface is Cognos Powerplay, which is navigable itself. Instructions of use are included in the interface, bottom right. However, navigation between indicators is recommended with the indicator list.

The Glossary widens the information for the focal concepts of the metadata, such as survey instruments, their use and psychometric qualities, statistical calculation systems and classification standards. Survey questionnaires are also included, as well as references and internet links for more detailed information.

The data sources are listed in Links, divided in two groups, international and national. Here are links to the aforementioned international databases as well as national statistical institutions that have provided data for MINDFUL.
