Comparisons
Below are shown two examples of hospital comparisons.
Figure 1 (pdf 36kb) shows the productivity
indexes for hospitals. The higher the productivity index the
more productive is the hospital and vice versa.
Table 1 (pdf 49kb) shows various indicators
using episodes for the DRG "Hysterectomy without complications".
As can be seen, there are great variations in the number of bed
days per episode and costs per episode. For instance, in the
case of hospital I, there would be room for improving
productivity.
